The Seattle Seahawks will make a trip South to Atlanta, to take on the Falcons. These two teams are playing for the right to go to the NFC title game next weekend. Both teams come into the game red-hot. Seattle went 11-5 during the regular season, and finished second place in the NFC West. The Atlanta Falcons have the top seed in the NFC, after winning the South Division with a 13-3 record. The Seahawks are coming off a win over the Redskins last week.
Pete Carroll and his crew are red-hot. The Seahawks ended regular season with a string of wins, and the win over Washington was after trailing the game 14-0. Seattle is led by a rookie quarterback in Russell Wilson. The former Wisconsin Badgers playcaller threw for 3,100 yards and 26 touchdowns this season. The running back, Marshawn Lynch had a great season, running the football over 310 times for nearly 1,600 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Seahawks outscored opponents during the regular season by a total of 167 points.
For the Falcons, they played consistently well most of the season. Atlanta’s three losses came to divisional foes, all on the road. The first loss was to New Orleans, followed by losses at Carolina and then the regular season finale at Tampa Bay. Santana Moss led Washington with 8 touchdowns. Washington went 5-3 at home.
