NFL Week 9 Betting: Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts Pick and Prediction

On Sunday afternoon – the Indianapolis Colts will host the Miami Dolphins. This is a game at the beginning of the season, many would have wrote off, but now it becomes a very important week 9 game. Both teams are 4-3, and staring at a wildcard berth in the face. The Dolphins trail New England by a game in the AFC East, while the Colts are two games behind Houston in the AFC South.

The Indianapolis Colts have been a pleasant surprise this far. Indianapolis has four wins on the season, and have yet to lose two straight all season long. The Colts are coming off a thrilling overtime win over Tennessee last week. Indianapolis is led by a rookie quarterback Andrew Luck. Luck has thrown for 1,971 yards and 8 touchdowns through the first 7 games. The Colts are 9th in passing with nearly 266 yards per game.  Indianapolis has improved on the defensive side of the ball as well, with allowing just 213 passing yards per game, which ranks 7th in the NFL. The Colts have won their four games by an average of 4 points.

For the Miami Dolphins, they have also won close games. The first win over Oakland was a blow-out, then the next two were within a score. The most recent win for Miami was a 30-9 thrashing of the Jets. Miami has also lost two games in overtime. The Dolphins are also led by a young quarterback  – Ryan Tannehill. The former Texas A+M quarterback is questionable after leaving last week’s game with an injury. The Miami running game has been anchored by Reggie Bush, with nearly 500 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Dolphins are playing their second straight road game.

Odds and Sports Betting Line

  • Miami Dolphins -1
  • Indianapolis Colts +1

Free Prediction and Pick

This should be a very tight game. Both of these teams are used to playing close games, so it will come down to who takes care of the football better. With Tannehill being questionable, we like Andrew Luck, the top pick overall to come away with a win in this game. Do not expect alot of scoring to be done in this tilt.

Prediction: Indianapolis Colts 21-17 Miami Dolphins

The Indianapolis Colts are actually underdogs in this game. That surprises us, as they are at home, where they have played better. The Colts are not getting alot of love, but with a win – they would be into a postseason spot halfway through the season. Look for Luck to be better than Tannehill, and Indianapolis gets a big turnover late in the game to help them win the game and move to 5-3. We are betting the Indianapolis Colts, as the underdog to win the game.

Pick: Indianapolis Colts +1

NFL Week 8 Betting: Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles Pick and Prediction

In one of the best games of Week 8 – the Atlanta Falcons will go on the road to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Falcons are the only unbeaten team in all of the National Football League. Atlanta is 6-0, and in first place in the NFC South. The Falcons hold a four game lead over New Orleans and Tampa Bay. Philadelphia is 3-3 as well, and tied with Washington and the Cowboys for second place in the NFC East. The Eagles have won three very close games thus far in 2012. The Falcons and Eagles are both coming off their bye week.

Philadelphia will look for ways to aide in Michael Vick not turning the football over. In 6 games this season, Vick has turned the ball over 14 times. The Eagles have been able to move the football, but unable to put points on the board. The Eagles have scored just 103 points in six games, the lowest in the NFL. Philadelphia has lost two straight before the bye; to Pittsburgh and Detroit.

The Atlanta Falcons feel their quarterback Matt Ryan is a candidate for the MVP through the first six games of the season. Ryan has completed 160 of 236 passes for 1,700+ yards and 14 touchdowns. Ryan has several weapons, including running back Michael Turner, along with veteran tight end Tony Gonzalez and receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White. Atlanta faces a tough stretch of their schedule which sees them take on Dallas and New Orleans in the next two weeks.

Odds and Sports Betting Line

  • Atlanta Falcons +1
  • Philadelphia Eagles -1

Free Prediction and Pick

This should be a heck of a football game. The Falcons are not going to want to go easy, while Philadelphia feels they have alot of proving to do. Michael Vick will be going up against his old team in this one. The Eagles are the worst offensive scoring team in all of the league, but we like that to change. Atlanta has shown vulnerable to teams passing on them, so look for Vick and company to take advantage of that. We are going to say Philadelphia comes away with a home win in this game, moving Falcons to the world of beaten teams.

Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles 27-24

The Philadelphia Eagles are actually the favorites in this game. That is a bit surprising, with the Falcons being the top ranked team in the NFL within power rankings. The Eagles have been a disappointment, and have had a terrible time taking care of the ball. Obviously that is a huge key in this game. Look for the Eagles to have better ball control, and come out on top in this game. We are taking the favorite – Philadelphia Eagles wo tin this game, and cover the single point spread.

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles -1

NFL Week 8 Betting: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys Pick and Prediction

The New York Giants travel to the Big D to take on the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants and Cowboys have already played once this season; in the opening game of the season, with the Cowboys coming away with the win on the road. Both of these teams compete out of the NFC East, where New York holds a 1.5 game lead on the rest of the division. At 5-2, they lead Dallas, Washington and Philadelphia, who are 3-3. The Giants are coming off a big win over Washington, while Dallas beat the Carolina Panthers last weekend.

The Cowboys are going to have to take care of the football if they want any chance at repeating Opening Night. The Cowboys turn the ball over way too much, which burns them in the end. Dallas passes the ball pretty well; averaging 277 yards per game via the air. The Cowboys defense has been pretty good against the pass as well; yielding 187.3 yards per game. Dallas is led by Miles Austin, who has four touchdown receptions and Dez Bryant, with 2.

The New York Giants are playing pretty good football right now. New York has won three in a row since a road loss at Philadelphia. The Giants are third in the NFL in passing yards with 295.3 yards per game.  Victor Cruz has seven touchdown receptions, while the running back combination of Ahmad Bradshaw and Andre Brown have eight combined scores. The Giants have yet to take their bye, as they will host Pittsburgh and play at Cincinnati the following two weekends.

Odds and Sports Betting Line

  • New York Giants -1
  • Dallas Cowboys +1

Free Prediction and Pick

New York has Eli Manning on their side. He is a much better and poised quarterback than Tony Romo. Victor Cruz is emerging into a top notch receiver, and Ahmad Bradshaw continues to run the football well. New York is the team to beat out of the NFC East, and as defending Super Bowl champions, in maybe all of football. We expect the Giants to roll in this game by two touchdowns.

Prediction: New York Giants 31-17

As you can see with our prediction – we have no faith in the Dallas Cowboys covering such a small spread. We feel like New York is going to come out with a chip on their shoulder in this game and blow-out Dallas. The Giants are a much better football team on both sides of the ball. In the end, New York runs away with this game in a laugher, which means New York -1.

Pick: New York Giants -1
