NFL Postseason Week 2 Betting: Seattle Seahawks @ Atlanta Falcons Pick and Prediction

ATLThe Seattle Seahawks will make a trip South to Atlanta, to take on the Falcons. These two teams are playing for the right to go to the NFC title game next weekend. Both teams come into the game red-hot. Seattle went 11-5 during the regular season, and finished second place in the NFC West. The Atlanta Falcons have the top seed in the NFC, after winning the South Division with a 13-3 record. The Seahawks are coming off a win over the Redskins last week.

Pete Carroll and his crew are red-hot. The Seahawks ended regular season with a string of wins, and the win over Washington was after trailing the game 14-0. Seattle is led by a rookie quarterback in Russell Wilson. The former Wisconsin Badgers playcaller threw for 3,100 yards and 26 touchdowns this season. The running back, Marshawn Lynch had a great season, running the football over 310 times for nearly 1,600 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Seahawks outscored opponents during the regular season by a total of 167 points.

For the Falcons, they played consistently well most of the season. Atlanta’s three losses came to divisional foes, all on the road. The first loss was to New Orleans, followed by losses at Carolina and then the regular season finale at Tampa Bay. The Falcons are led by quarterback Matt Ryan, who tossed for over 4,700 yards and 32 touchdowns. Atlanta’s running game was anchored by Michael Turner, with 800 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Falcons, much like Seattle outscored their opponents by a ton. Atlanta scored 419 points and allowed 299.

It’s kind of crazy to think that the Seahawks and Falcons are playing for the right to get to the NFC title game. For Atlanta, they know that if they win, they will remain at home. Seattle, who has not had a ton of success in the past are looking to emerge as a NFL power. The Seahawks are red hot, but in this game, it appears the Falcons will be able to slow that down. We like the Atlanta Falcons to come away with a win in this one. The game will be close, but Atlanta finds a way to win the game.

Prediction: Atlanta Falcons 24-20

The Seattle Seahawks are underdogs. That, in it’s own is a bit of a surprise, only because of how well they have been playing. Atlanta has been a favorite for most of the season, and done quite well against the spread, especially in home games. We look for Seattle and Atlanta to go toe-to-toe, but in the end, the Falcons defense forces Wilson to throw a bad pass, which will be the deciding factor in the game. We are taking Atlanta -3.

Pick: Atlanta Falcons -3
