NFL Week 3 Betting: St. Louis Rams at Chicago Bears

NFL Week 3 Betting: St. Louis Rams at Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears will host the St. Louis Rams on Sunday in the National Football League. Both teams come into the game with matching 1-1 records. The Bears have a won over Indianapolis and a loss to Green Bay under their belt. The Rams lost at Detroit in week one, and then came back with a win over the Redskins in week two.

The Chicago Bears are looking for protection for their quarterback Jay Cutler. Cutler was sacked numerous times on Thursday night in Green Bay. When he was not knocked down, Cutler was throwing errant passes; four interceptions in the loss. The Bears running back Matt Forte is questionable with an ankle injury. Chicago is tied with the rest of the NFC North for first place in the division.

The St. Louis Rams want to keep Sam Bradford on his feet, and passing the football. Bradford looked solid for the second straight game in the win over Washington. The Rams quarterback hit up Danny Amendola 15 times in the win. St. Louis’ rookie running back Daryl Richardson is getting several carries in the early going; with 103 yards on the season. St. Louis is trailing San Francisco and Arizona; who are both 2-0 in the NFC West.

This game will be closer than many people think. In fact, if the Bears do not protect for Cutler, St. Louis and their strong secondary may be able to do what Green Bay did. In the end, we look for the playmakers in Chicago to come away with the home win. We like the Bears to win this game, but St. Louis to make it interesting.

Prediction: Chicago 27-21 St. Louis

The Rams will cover this game. It’s kind of crazy that they are nearly a double digit underdog. What they did to Matthew Stafford, and then coming back from down big early at home last week should not go unnoticed. Look for St. Louis to easily cover this 9 point spread, and give the Bears a home scare.
